Streamlining the Future: Swan Engineering Delivers Seamless Factory Relocation – Norfolk to Tayside.
Swan Engineering is proud to have successfully completed a critical relocation and upgrade project for a key client, supporting their continued growth and operational consolidation at their site in Perthshire, Scotland.
This project saw the relocation of a significant part of their Norfolk facilities, a challenge Swan Engineering was proud to take on from start to finish.
We ensured the safe and efficient dismantling of key equipment at the Norfolk plant, which was then loaded and transported north. This equipment was reinstalled in Scotland providing an additional full line, as well as the replacement of older systems with robotic and automated technology to improve speed, precision, and labour efficiency. This added automated packing to existing lines at the scottish site.
An additional aspect of the move involved the relocation of industrial cooling systems. Swan Engineering carefully removed and relocated chiller units and designed new, bespoke cooling pipework to support an expanded cold store network at the Scottish site. This ensured temperature-sensitive produce operations were fully maintained with improved reliability and capacity. This work was carried out by Swan Engineering and our sister company – CoreCool.
Delivered on time and within scope, this project demonstrates Swan’s capability in managing complex, multi-site factory transitions with precision and foresight. The Perthshire facility is now equipped to handle increased volumes and benefit from the streamlined, tech-driven operations that our customer requires for future resilience.
Swan Engineering is proud to have supported this project—a key supplier of fresh produce to Asda—in realising a more efficient, consolidated future.
