We recently completed delivery and hand-off of a fully co‑designed, manufactured, and installed production plant at ScotBio. This bespoke plant marks an innovative milestone and demanded a distinctive approach compared to conventional projects.
ScotBio, a pioneering Scottish biotech company, is transforming spirulina production using indoor photobioreactors and advanced protein and pigment extraction systems.
Their prototype plant presented an exciting challenge. Unlike typical assembly-line installations, this build needed continual collaboration and iterative adaption right through to commissioning.
Working closely with ScotBio’s team, we applied our full-service capabilities—handling structural steel, baseframes, industrial cooling systems, electrical and systems control systems. Throughout the build, we were able to remain adaptable and agile, making changes continually as the customer’s requirements evolved.
This project is more than a machine delivery—it’s a dynamic collaboration between biotech innovators and engineering excellence. ScotBio now has a tailor-made facility designed to evolve their research into scalable processes, providing a foundation for proving their product.
We’re thrilled to have played a central role in this pioneering project and proud to overcome the challenges of a fully bespoke, R&D-driven plant. This stands as a testament to our ability to deliver high-performance, adaptable engineering solutions, aligned with innovative science.
